Shamu – V11
Description:
Tackle the big roof on the south side of the Shamu boulder. Starts on a big sidepull jug around waist height. Move straight through the roof and follow the arete to the very top of the boulder. Was originally climbed as a drop off somewhere at the lip and was named "Free the Whales" before the full line was climbed to the tippy top.

2022-09-08Feels like a harder Mon Cal. The roof is sick. 4 stars cus the topout is choss.

2020-09-24 (FA)Probably the hardest line at big choss! Very stoked! Super interesting beta, and some of the worst hands and feet ive ever used in a roof that steep. This felt quite hard, but there might be some easier beta through the roof. If you are attempting this, I would strongly recommend scoping/cleaning the top section with a rope, as it has not been fully cleaned.
